Real weddings Made here

Made for the two of you

One remarkable place.
A thousand personal details.

Set on the banks of the River Clyde, David Livingstone Birthplace brings together a Category A-listed building, relaxed event spaces and leafy grounds. There is no one way to celebrate here. We listen first, then help shape a day with its own rhythm and story.

A real celebration

See how the day can unfold

From gathering in the grounds to sharing food around the table, every part of your wedding can feel connected and unhurried.

From first look to last toast

Stay in one characterful setting while the mood changes around you: ceremony, photographs, dinner and dancing, all with time to enjoy it.

    Arrive and make it yours

Add your flowers, finishing touches and the details your guests will remember.

    Vows, photographs and time together

Celebrate, mingle and use the historic building and parkland as your backdrop.

  3. Evening

    Eat, speak and celebrate

Settle around the table, raise a glass and let the evening become your own.

Bespoke by design

We begin with a conversation, not a package

Tell us what matters to you: the atmosphere, guest list, food, traditions and ideas you cannot stop thinking about. Our team will help turn those starting points into a thoughtful, tailored proposal.

  • 01 A plan shaped around your priorities and guest list
  • 02 Flexible use of indoor and outdoor spaces
  • 03 Food and drink choices discussed with you
  • 04 Time to visit, explore and imagine the day

A celebration with purpose

Your day becomes part of our story

David Livingstone Birthplace is an independent museum and registered charity. Celebrating here helps care for the historic site, collections and parkland, and supports our work with communities.

Your first questions, answered

Do you offer set wedding packages?

Every wedding is bespoke. Once we understand your preferred date, guest numbers and ideas, we will create a tailored proposal.

Can we hold our ceremony and reception here?

Tell us how you picture your day and we will talk through the spaces and format that could work best for each part of it.

How many guests can you host?

Capacity depends on the spaces and layout your celebration needs. Include your estimated guest numbers when you enquire and our team will advise what is possible.

Can we visit before deciding?

Yes. We would love to hear your ideas and arrange a time for you to explore the setting with our team.

Can we use the grounds just for wedding photographs?

Yes. Photography-only visits are welcome. Contact the team to check a date and discuss the current arrangements.
